Artistic Director Jouko Harjanne
Jouko Harjanne is recognized as one of Finland's most prominent brass musicians on the international stage. He has served as the principal trumpet for the Radio Symphony Orchestra since 1984. Originating from Rauma, Harjanne has performed as a soloist worldwide, premiered numerous trumpet works, and released over 35 solo recordings. Lieksa Brass Week honored him as the Brass Musician of the Year in 1989 and appointed him as the Artistic Director in 1996. Additionally, since 2012, he has served as the Brass Ambassador for the city of Lieksa, representing and promoting the tradition of brass music.
