Jouko Harjanne

Jouko Harjanne (1962–) is often described as the most internationally renowned brass player of Finland. Born in Rauma, Harjanne has been the principal trumpet of the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra since 1984. He has performed as a soloist around the world, premiered numerous trumpet works, and released over 30 solo recordings. Lieksa Brass Week named Harjanne as the Brass Player of the Year in 1989 and appointed him as the Artistic Director in 1996. Since 2012, he has served as the Brass Ambassador for the city of Lieksa.
